| About Brooks
Brooks Divinity School was founded one hundred years ago in 1898. The school offers a strong spiritual education emphasizing but not confined to the Judeo-Christian and New Thought traditions. It qualifies teachers and practitioners and it ordains ministerial students for licensing in Divine Science, in the Christian Ministry of New Thought, and in the Contemporary Ministry. The school perpetuates and promotes the teachings of Divine Science as defined by its founders but it also promotes an informed knowledge of the teachings of other New Thought leaders, of the Bible, of other major world religions, of the relationship between secular and spiritual psychology, and of the relationship between spirituality and contemporary science. The curriculum includes courses in homiletics, pastoral counseling, ceremonies, church administration, and other matters, providing an over-all well-rounded practical approach to building a ministry of spiritual strength and integrity. Individuals who seek personal spiritual and cultural enrichment rather than professional preparation are always warmly welcomed as students. Every year many attend Brooks classes and the annual June Summer School with just such interests. Correspondence and residential courses lead to licensing as a Divine Science Teacher and Fellow (D.Sc.F.), to registration as a Practitioner, to the Certificate of Completion of Ministerial Studies, and to Ordination.
